Alison Smith

Alison is a Qualified Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser with over 30 years’ experience advising a broad range of clients, including individuals, entrepreneurs, private and family business owners, executives, trustees, charities and family offices.

She brings extensive expertise across both compliance and advisory work, from company formation, accounts preparation and audit through to complex tax structuring, including shareholder planning on exit, inheritance tax, capital gains tax and succession planning. Her experience spans both professional practice and industry, giving her a well-rounded and commercially grounded perspective.

Alison is known for her proactive, long-term approach, working closely with clients to understand their evolving needs and to provide considered, strategic advice across multiple business and personal interests.

Most recently, she has worked within a specialist advisory firm focused on venture capital tax reliefs, including SEIS, EIS and VCTs, further strengthening her ability to support clients in structuring and optimising tax-efficient investments.
